A SWEET WAY TO END A MEAL!
I was mostly a good little kid though I have to admit that I was just a wee bit weird. I loved pudding. Boy did I love it! Chocolate was my fave, though I wouldn’t turn down vanilla. Or butterscotch. Sidebar: during my first pregnancy, I could not get enough butterscotch pudding. Or butterscotch anything actually. Anyway, there was one pudding that made me cringe though. Rice pudding. And I seriously can’t tell you why. No, really. I can’t remember. I just remember being disgusted with it every time it was presented as a dessert option. If I had to guess, maybe the bits of rice didn’t jive with my thoughts on how pudding should be a creamy texture. Or maybe the rice turned me off because I associated with dinner foods and didn’t want them involved in my dessert.
Whatever my aversion was, it led me to having serious issues with rice pudding for YEARS. Until I had a boyfriend that I really REALLY liked in college and when I had dinner at his parents’ home for the first time, his mom served rice pudding. I didn’t want to be a jerk so I thought I’d try it to be polite and thus, my love of rice pudding was finally born. What didn’t I see in it before? My stars. Don’t miss out on this.
