MAKE SUMMER LAST!
Summer is going by way too quickly, isn’t it? I know, I was just complaining about how hot it is and that the kids are making me crazy and need to go back to school and now I’m droning on and on about how it should slow down. Incidentally, at noon the other day, my car told me the outside temperature was 90. I couldn’t believe it was so cold outside! Even my friends a bit north had 100 degree weather. What a shocker! Anyway, one thing I do actually like about summer is the abundance of fresh berries. I love buying them to munch on but they’re also heavenly in desserts. Sometimes a nice pie can be even nicer with fresh berries on top.
Blackberries are such a wonderful treat to me. They’re always so expensive until you wait for just the right time. Lucky me, I found them at a great price and bought up a bunch. I wanted to eat them as-is and use the rest in something awesome. That’s how I came across this dump cake. I love dump cakes because they’re like your friend who invites you over and she’s wearing a stained t-shirt from 1994 and ripped Nike workout shorts.
