LIKE ICE CREAM IN CAKE FORM!
When I was in high school, my friend April took an after school job at the local ice cream shop. It was great because we’d go in there and she’d hook us up with so much free ice cream. Except when her boss was around. Then she had to be discreet. So we’d try the samples in true sample form, on those tiny spoons instead. One day, we’d been up to no good eating too much ice cream when her boss showed up unexpectedly and we had to pretend we were tasting flavors. April made us taste the butter pecan which we had strangely pegged as old people ice cream. We never imagined it would taste good. We just thought it was a stupid flavor. Boy were we wrong!
To this day, I still love butter pecan ice cream. So when I essentially found its cake spirit animal, I knew I had to make it. I thought sharing it with my neighbors would be nice. Do you share with your neighbors? When I was a kid, this was what we always did. Now it seems so rare and I don’t want that lovely tradition to die out. Make one of these and share it too!
