MAMA MIA!
As a child, I remember going to lots of different restaurants. My father loved to dine out and his foodie influence is what led me down my own foodie path. Early on, my parents made it very clear that my brother and I were to behave or else we’d get it. And just so you know, this “it” I speak of was a big spanking, the mother of all punishments back then. My brother and I were not stupid. We knew that by sitting quietly, we’d be rewarded generously with dessert.
Anyway, one of our favorite places was an Italian restaurant. I think we probably ate every single item on their menu after going there for so long. God it was good. Especially the dessert. My brother and I always ordered the tiramisu. Because it really is Italy’s best dessert. It’s got that creamy coffee taste that just melts right into your mouth. My dad also loved the tiramisu, but he was a sucker for tartufo, which I just could never get into. It had all the makings of being a great dessert (layers of ice cream with a fruit syrup or frozen fruit center and a chocolate topping to wrap it all up) but for some reason, it just made me feel like I was eating my mom’s lipstick.
I might not be Italian, but I’ve found a great tiramisu cheesecake recipe. Let’s go to the next page (click the Next button below) to find out more about it.
