SCORE!
The first time I ever made a pie from scratch – not counting the no-bake kind (those are so easy and you’ve got to love them for that) – it was an apple pie. I fumbled about a bit and it looked a little wonky, but I was just so proud when I pulled it out of the oven. It smelled heavenly and it thankfully tasted terrific. Over the years, I’ve perfected my technique but I love seeing how others make their apple pies and giving them a try. So when I found this recipe, I had to give it a whirl. I like to do a lattice top on mine (I know, total show-off) but I wanted to follow this recipe the way the original poster had created it to see how it stacked up to mine.
Plus, I had an insane idea. I know, ALL my ideas are insane, but really this one takes the pie. See, I figure I’ll round up my favorite apple pie recipes and then make 3 different ones once the holidays roll around again. I’ll then tell my guests I only made one of them and see if they can guess which one. Which will be hilarious because I’ll have made them all. Yeah, I know. I’m nuts. Okay, let’s go make a pie!
