NEVER KNEW SMASHING PRETZELS COULD BE SO FUN!
First of all, this was an absolute blast to make. If ever you feel like getting some aggression out, I highly recommend taking a rolling pin to a bag full of pretzels and then smashing the heck out of it.
The sweet butter and sugar combined with the salty pretzel bits makes for an absolutely incredible crust for this dessert. This strawberry wonder was quick and easy to create. It was easy enough, in fact, that I was able to have all the dishes cleaned, the laundry started, and the floors swept in the time it took me to make this. (Hooray for multitasking!) I set the whipped topping, cream cheese, and sugar in the kitchen aid and let it go to town while I boiled the water for the gelatin and stirred in the strawberries. This is as close to a ‘no real effort required’ dessert ever. And delicious? Well, my little friend thought so. She was delighted by the non-chocolate dessert and had to fight off her coworkers who were trying to get in on the action.
So, really – who needs chocolate when you’ve got this? (Me. I do. I still need chocolate.) So I found two recipes for this dessert that I like. One is from the Taste Of Home blog and the other is from the Sugar Apron blog from where I’m including the recipe below. Check out both to see which one you might like better.
