PERFECT FOR ALL STRAWBERRY LOVERS!
This is one of those lovely simple little recipes that come together in a flash and you only wish you’d discovered it sooner so you could have already eaten it. But not to worry…you can make up for lost time.
Some quick tips though: First, the original poster uses Dream Whip. If you’re going to go that route, you need to also consider milk and vanilla extract for preparing it when you are gathering your ingredients together. Two roads diverged in a dessert, and I – I chose the option of using Cool Whip instead. What? Those old school memories must have got my brain back on poems by Robert Frost.
At the end of the recipe, the original poster gives you a recipe for homemade strawberry filling so if you don’t want to use the canned stuff, you can make your own. OR! You can also use fresh strawberries along with strawberry shortcake glaze that you can find in the refrigerated produce section at the supermarket. That’s what I did because I’d just bought a ton of strawberries and I didn’t want them to go bad before we ate them. It was heaven.
