PRETTY IN PINK!
Sometimes, you need a cake that just looks all girly and pretty. That would be me right now, trying to decide on about 10 different cakes for my daughter’s upcoming birthday. I want something that looks lovely but doesn’t take up too much time. While I’d loooooooooove to devote hours upon hours to this task, the reality is if I want my daughter to have a party and to have food at that party, I need to keep things simple. But that doesn’t mean simple needs to look ordinary.
That’s why this cake is my front-runner right now. It’s strawberry, like she asked for and it’s so super simple. It’s pretty and kind of princess-y which is a nice compromise because she wanted princesses all over the top and everything. Unless I take her dolls and stick them all over the top, that’s not happening. This strawberry cake is that simple kind of pretty. It’s pretty in pink, just like Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink all those years ago. Oh, crud. My age is showing. Excuse me while I go cover that up with lots of 80s hair band and makeup from my Caboodles. Let’s go to the next page (click the Next button below) to discover how to make this Strawberry Cake.
