IT’S BERRY DELICIOUS!
Fresh strawberries make this the dream come true that it is. While you could probably substitute thawed frozen berries in this, I don’t know if it would have the same wow factor. You could probably also cheat and use prepared biscuit dough instead of making it fresh, but I’ve got to warn you…the original poster of this recipe gives you a dang good biscuit recipe right here and it really takes much less time than you think to throw this all together.
You’ll need self-rising flour for the biscuits. If you don’t have any on hand and going to the store would be too taxing on your nerves, I get it. I recently had to run out in the rain with both of my kids to go get my husband cabbage so he could finish making the Chinese dumplings he desperately wanted to make. I could have left the kids with him but I got a grumpy look which meant I had to be Superwifeymommy. Again.
Anyway, to make the self-rising flour, add 1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder and a ½ teaspoon of salt for every cup of flour and mix well. One last thing: before you bake this up, be sure to sprinkle the tops of the biscuits with sugar for that extra special touch.
This delicious pastime recipe that I found to make this review comes from the Mommy’s Kitchen blog. Click the link below to go visit the blog to see some more pictures and get the detailed recipe.
