A FLUFFY TASTE OF HEAVEN!
As I mentioned, you can make this gluten free if you need to, so there’s that. You’ll need to make 2 angel food cakes for this recipe. It’s a very straight-forward set of instructions, though do take care to put the cake in the oven while the oven is cold and then turn it on. This is very different than most other recipes because you typically preheat the oven. Now, if you really want to be sneaky or just need to cut time, you can use pre-made angel food cakes. If you bake your own, remember to let them cool.
You’ll mix the cream cheese and Cool Whip mixture up, which takes no time. Add pecans if you wish. I didn’t, but go for it if you feel like it. Tear up the cooled cake into cubes and then coat it really well with the cream cheese mixture. Layer this up in a large trifle dish if you’ve got one because that will make it extra pretty. You’ll put half of the cake mixture on the bottom and then top it with strawberry pie filling. Repeat these layers and then chill so it sets. Then hurry through dinner so you can enjoy it!
