THE PERFECT RECIPE FOR BEGINNERS!
I had to laugh when I found this recipe. The original poster had created her blog based around the fact that she couldn’t cook. But what I found remarkable was that she was setting out, hell or high water, to learn to love it. You go, girl. I didn’t go through a hatred of cooking and baking. More like a fear. And state of confusion. I like to think of that one scene in the movie Overboard. You know, with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. If you’ve never seen it, whip up this strawberry angel fluff and sit down and watch it. It’s still one of my favorite movies. Goldie Hawn plays a really rich, very snooty woman who angers a carpenter on her yacht. She tosses him overboard and he gets the perfect shot at revenge when she lands in the hospital with amnesia because she fell off her yacht.
So he pretends she’s his wife and makes her do all his chores. One of them is cooking a whole, fresh-killed chicken. It’s in a pot on the stove with its legs sticking up and she says, “This is so strange. It feels like I’ve never done this before in my life.” Yes, that was me. And if that’s you, no worries. Start off simple and you will no longer feel like you’re in the dark. Try this recipe today for a confidence boosting dessert that you can even make gluten free!
