TAKE THE SIMPLE PATH TO THE SOUTH!
This contest-winning recipe makes your life (and mine) easier by calling for pre-made pie dough. Of course, be my guest if you want to make your own crust. No one is stopping you. First, you’ll only combine the peaches and preserves and pour them into your pie crust. Then, you’ll whisk the sugar, sour cream, egg yolks, flour and vanilla, and pour all that over the peaches. Bake it up, and while the oven works its’ magic, you work yours by making the topping. When the oven beeps, you’ll pull out the pie, add the topping to the pie and then bake some more.
A great way to keep the edges from getting to brown or burning is to cover them with foil while you bake the topping. Cool completely before serving and as a reminder, because this contains sour cream, you’ll need to keep it stored in your refrigerator.
