A COBBLER WITH FRUIT?!?!
That was the first thing I said when I first found this recipe. How can you possibly have a cobbler without fruit?!? Isn’t that supposed to be the crux of the cobbler?!? But I’m not so old that I’m set in my ways and so I thought I’d at least give it a chance. I mean, it’s a Snickerdoodle Cobbler for heaven’s sake. Snickerdoodle. We’ve just got to hear it out.
So I read through the recipe. No need for a mixer, folks. You can just slap this baby together, easy-peasy. Plus, it is highly likely you have everything in your pantry already. And here’s what did me in: it makes its own sauce. Yes, that’s right. While it bakes up, the water in the recipe combines with the other ingredients to make a sultry and sweet caramel sauce. You barely have to do anything. It’s like having a house guest that cleans up after themselves instead of leaving a vile mess in your bathroom. It’s that amazing!
