MY FAVORITE CUP IS A COOKIE CUP!
You know, why have a cookie when you can have a cup of cookie? Amiright? Love you cookies, but a cuppa cookie means we’ve got room in the middle to add more yum. Now these cookies have “brown butter” in the title for a reason. That’s because you are going to, very literally, brown that butter. Be patient. It will turn a golden brown color after about 5 minutes.
Another thing to keep in mind here is that you’ll add all the other ingredients as listed to make the batter but WAIT for those chocolate chips. Because the butter is hot, it will melt your chips into the batter and we don’t want that! Give it at least 15 minutes before you proceed. Take a break, or better yet, keep busy by unwrapping your caramels. You’ll have to do that anyway.
Then you’ll layer into muffin tins. First, with a scoop of the cookie dough. Flatten it down into the bottom of the cup. Then add 2 caramels and sprinkle with salt. That’s why it’s “salted caramel,” you see. And hey, if you forget the salt, no biggie. It will still taste amazing without it. You just can’t be all fancy and call it “salted caramel.” You’ll load more dough on top of that, bake, and then voila! Yumminess is ready!
