BREAD IN 8 INGREDIENTS!
While it’s easier than other breads by miles and tastes better than many loaves you’d slave over, you still need to add yeast. If you’ve never used it before (hey, there’s a first time for everyone), you’ll need to add it to a bowl of warm water to dissolve it before you add the other ingredients. When you do, it will form a soft dough. Unlike other breads, you don’t knead to knead it. I mean you don’t need to need it. Ack! Ugh! Don’t knead! Just stick it in a greased bowl and turn it so the top gets greased up too. Cover it up and let it rise so it doubles in size.
Seriously? I blame all the children’s books that I must sit and read repeatedly day after day to my children.
Anyway, after it rises for an hour, stir it and get it into your tube pan. Then let it rise again while in the pan. After it bakes, let it cool. The recipe also includes directions for making honey butter which is even easier than the bread. Just combine the honey and butter until smooth and then serve it alongside the bread. This bread is amazing plain or with the honey butter. Or with anything you wish to add, like fresh jam. Yum!
