ONLY 4 INGREDIENTS TO MAKE THIS AWESOME TREAT!
Honestly, this beats the pants off those movie theater boxes of candy. It’s crunchy, munchy, chocolaty, peanut buttery and ideal for snacking on during movies. First, you’ll freeze the peanut butter cups, roughly for 30 minutes. Melt your chocolate according to the package or you can do it in the microwave if you are REALLY careful. Don’t put on for more than 30 seconds at a time or you’ll have scorched chocolate. Yuck. Take the peanut butter cups and chop them up into large-ish pieces and then pop back into the freezer. When your chocolate is smooth and melted, you’ll stir in the peanut butter cups and peanuts. You can also omit the peanuts if you would prefer but the crunch and saltiness really adds something.
If you’re worried about peanut allergies, since this contains Reese’s, you should probably look for something else to make. Also, if the chocolate seems too thick, the original poster says you can add shortening but I’m not a fan of that stuff. It’s wicked bad for you. I added in a teensy bit of melted butter to provide more viscosity and that worked out well for me. Pour it all into a pan and allow to set before you break it into pieces. It keeps well in an airtight container at room temperature, though because of summer, I stuck mine in the fridge so it didn’t melt in my bag by the time we went to the movies.
I found this delectable recipe on the Chocolate, Chocolate, and More blog. Click the link below to see the blog and full recipe for this Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Bark.
