THE MIXER MAKES IT!
This is one of those fabulous recipes where your mixer is really doing all the work. All YOU need to do is pour the right things in at the right times and flip the switch. You’ll beat some stuff together with your mixer until it’s light and fluffy and then in another bowl, you round up your dry ingredients. Sift them so they don’t clump. That’s the one thing you have to do, and then you give it all to the mixer to handle for you. Easy-peasy! Roll the dough into balls and then into your red sanding sugar. Then bake on the prepared cookie sheet.
Now here’s something I did not know when I first tried baking things from scratch some years ago…I did not know that for a cookie like this with a Hershey’s Kiss in the middle, you DO NOT add them before baking. Thus, I wound up with the ugliest cookies you ever did see and a melted blob of chocolate joining the entire tray together. At least I could claim I only ate one cookie. Anyway, don’t make that mistake. Add your Kisses immediately after you pull the cookies out of the oven.
