THE PERFECT PROGRESSION!
So before you make this, prep your pan by lining it with wax paper. Don’t make things hard on yourself. Trust me on this. One thing you should note is that the recipe lists 6 ingredients, but in the directions, it talks about adding sweetened condensed milk, which is NOT one of the 6 listed ingredients. I believe this is because for most fudge recipes you’ll ever see, you’ll use that sweetened condensed milk.
I scanned around for answers to this mystery and I found out in the comments that reducing the buttermilk to a ½ cup and adding a ½ cup of sweetened condensed milk is a good combination. A lot of people that commented seemed to have issues with the temperature and I cannot stress the importance of making sure you a) have a candy thermometer and b) test it first to make sure it is measuring temperatures properly. I think that will help you to be successful. Mine turned out great. I was pleased with the results and I think you will be too!
