IT’S PIE SQUARED!
So for starters, I’ll tell you this…you will be making your own crust. The recipe given is easy and yields a tasty, perfectly flaky pastry, so give it a try. Or if you have a favorite crust you like to use, put it to good use here. Or, if you’re new to baking and the thought of making the crust seems tricky, just pick up some ready-made crust at the supermarket. It’ll still be good. Just do yourself a favor and TRY to make a crust when you get more warmed up to baking, k?
I will say this…if you are in a hurry to get these going, then pre-made dough is the right choice because you need to chill your homemade dough until it becomes more manageable.
As far as raspberries go, fresh is going to be the best but if you can’t find good fresh raspberries, or they’re too expensive, get the frozen kind. Do not thaw them though or else they will change the color of the batter. And there you have it. Pie fit for a crowd. Pie that you can grab and go with. In this case, it’s hip to be square.
