DRESSED TO IMPRESS!
There is something special about velvet cakes, no? I mean, besides the coloring. The texture is so smooth and different from regular cake. If you haven’t noticed, this gives you an excuse to get 2 pieces of cake next time you’re out. No, really. Order a slice of chocolate cake and a slice of red velvet cake side by side and you will be able to feel the difference in texture.
I think all kinds of cake rule, quite honestly, so velvet or not, I’m in. But I do think they bring something extra special to the table, err the dessert table rather. And this recipe certainly will even though it technically isn’t a true velvet. It’s close enough though and the pretty pink is perfect for a pretty party, wouldn’t you agree? It’s definitely dressed to impress. And to top it all off, pardon the pun, is this incredible light and fluffy whipped vanilla buttercream. It’s the perfect finishing touch. So classy!
