NOT MADE WITH ACTUAL SHEETS!
As a small child, I remember asking my mom why she would put sheets in the cake. She looked at me, puzzled, and asked me why I thought she was putting our bed sheets into the cake. I will never forget how hard she laughed when I told her, “But it’s called sheet cake!” And fortunately for you, sheets are not among the ingredients here. I’m not Amelia Bedelia.
When you make this, you’ll be dazzled by the simplicity of it. You just mix together all the cake ingredients and bake it. Because the pineapples are in the cake batter, it lends a sweet taste with a moist texture that is to die for. I usually only reserve that kind of wording for chocolaty things so that should tell you something right there. The icing is cream cheese-based and really, your mixer does all the work here. The hardest things you’ll have to do are wait until this cake cools to frost it and, even more importantly, stay away from it before you take it to your event. Because trust me when I say no one wants a half-eaten cake with little fork marks in it. Nobody.
