BLAST FROM THE PAST!
8 easy ingredients until you have these cookies. And you don’t need to chill the dough. Bonus! However, it does call for shortening so if you’re not keen on using that stuff, just use more butter. But if you do, your cookies will spread more so then you will need to chill the dough for a bit to help keep that from happening. Or go ahead and use the shortening. Your call.
The dough is simple. Just add your ingredients in the order called for. The eggs need to be added one at a time. Make sure you incorporate them well before continuing on. You’ll roll the dough into balls and then flatten with either a fork or – and this is what I love best – a meat mallet! How cool! In all my years of baking, I never even thought to do that. In the original post, it makes the cookies look so cool. I had fun using that instead of a fork.
That’s it. Let them cool and then enjoy!
