THIS WILL TAKE YOU BACK!
When I was very little, I remember my mom would get together with some of the other moms that lived on our street. I loved it because those moms had girls my age and we’d have such fun playing together. We would alternate going to each other’s houses too so sometimes it would be at our house while other times, we’d go to theirs. While the other moms certainly were gracious with the refreshments, my mom would always have fresh-brewed coffee and a coffee cake. I’d pester her for both (even back then I adored the smell of coffee) but she would only give me a taste of her coffee cake. My favorite part was the streusel topping. I would leave no crumb of that behind on my plate.
This recipe, while completely different than my mom’s, still takes me back to those simpler days when I played with Beth and Allison, lip syncing to Madonna and Cyndi Lauper tunes in our hairbrushes, a skill I have already made sure to teach my children very well. Let’s go to the next page (click the Next button below) to discover how to make this Cinnamon Coffee Cake.
