CHOCOLATE BLISS!
Now for this recipe, you’ll need to be sure to use self-rising flour. Do not substitute! If you don’t have it on hand, you can make it yourself. The original poster has a link to that at the end of the recipe. Just a little warning that this batter tends to be really thick. It will be hard to spread around. Do your best. Also, the pecans are optional. For mine, I didn’t add them. I didn’t want them interfering with the soft chocolaty texture of this. It’s like a big, sweet, gooey melty brownie and while I love pecans, I don’t want them coming between me and my chocolate.
Another thing to remember is once you make the topping and put the whole thing together, before you pop it in the oven to bake, you will pour HOT water over the top of it. Not boiling, but hot. Once it’s done, serve it warm with ice cream. Whipped cream too if you’re big on indulgences. Mmmm!
