COMPLETE WITH SECRET INGREDIENT!
Oooh! I just LOVE a surprise, don’t you? I mean, besides how the cake is so unsuspectingly chocolate until you cut into it. That’s a darned good surprise right there. But you know what else is surprising? There is a secret ingredient. No, not sour cream. That’s always what you guess on a moist cake, amiright? Because that usually is what makes a cake moist. That or pudding. But in this one? It’s brewed coffee! Yes way!
Anyway, this cake for as stunning as it looks is so easy-peasy. You’ll sift the dry ingredients together. You’ll begin adding the wet ingredients in the order specified. You’ll add the eggs and vanilla and you’ll beat the dickens out of it with the mixer. The original poster helpfully noted that the batter will be thin, which is good because without that note, I would have assumed I messed up something. Oh and by the way, you can flour your pans with cocoa powder for an extra oomph of chocolate. You know you want to.
The frosting is nice too. You work with the milk and flour and when it gets thick on the stove, you cover and refrigerate it while you deal with the other frosting ingredients. Once it’s all together, you’ll frost your cooled cake and then you can impress everyone who freaks out when you cut it open. “I can’t believe it’s chocolate!” Yup!
