POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME!
Sorry not sorry for all the 80s rock blips. I can’t help myself. I will never be too old to rock out. They don’t make music like they used to. And now I know that THAT made me sound old. Sigh. Now I know what Grandpa meant. Anyway, back to these lemon bars. There’s this sugary glaze on top that really makes them melt right in your mouth. And making them is just as easy as eating them. Ok, maybe eating them is easiest but still! All you do is mix up a cup of the Bisquick and the powdered sugar. You’ll cut in the butter until it turns crumbly and then you’ll press all this down into your pan. You want to bake it until it turns light brown, about 10 minutes.
Next you’ll mix the rest of the ingredients, pour it over your crust and bake until golden brown. That should take around 25 minutes. While it’s still warm, carefully loosen edges from the sides of the pan using a knife. Spread your glaze on top of this and then allow it to cool. Additionally, if you want some healthier swaps, the original poster includes them at the end of the post. Typically, I use healthier ingredients when I can but my mom gave us a bunch of pantry staples recently and regular Bisquick happened to be one of them so I put it to good use.
