NOW THAT’S AMORE!
I am an absolute sucker for Italian food. Who isn’t, right? Believe it or not, my husband. He’s all like “meh” when I suggest we go out for Italian or even order a pizza. He’ll sigh all theatrically like I’ve asked him to eat a plate of maggots or something. It’s really annoying, honestly. Anyway, when we drive over to my parents’ home a couple hours away, he cannot escape when Mom announces she’ll be ordering pizza from Carmelita’s. Dad and I always sit there, discussing whether or not we should get calzones or a Sicilian-style pie. When we bring up anchovies, Mom gives us the evil eye and we pipe down. She doesn’t want her car smelling like anchovies. I guess I can’t blame her there.
We never ask her to but Mom ALWAYS picks up an order of cannolis too. They are so so SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. I love those things. I cannot possibly resist them, and I don’t think I ever want to.
