FROM SCRATCH TASTE FROM A BOX!
It all begins with a box mix. You’ll mix everything for the cake mix together until everything is blended. The main difference that I can tell from this recipe and the one I reviewed a while ago is that this one gives you 3 layers and the other one was 2 layers. This means you’ll have thinner layers on this cake. I kind of liked that because it gave me more frosting per bite and I loooooooooove frosting. But if you’d rather go for 2 layers, by all means!
This frosting is great too because you do not need to bust out your mixer for it. You can simply stir it together with a spoon. Once you frost everything, don’t forget to lick that spoon. You earned it. Oh and before I forget, when you’re putting the canned oranges into the cake, don’t forget to set some aside to decorate the top with after you frost it. It adds a bit of beauty to it and gives your guests a clue before they get to eat it that they are in for a tasty orange-flavored cake!
I found this light and fruity recipe on the Southern Lady Cooks blog. Click the link below to see the blog and full recipe for this Mandarin Orange Cake.
