MAMAW KNOWS BEST!
I love recipes like this that come from someone’s Mamaw or Grandma. You just know they’re going to be amazing. I also love that Mamaw wasn’t shy about using cake mix. You go, girl! It’s a really simple cake to make. The batter is a snap. Use fresh strawberries, if possible. If not, you’re stuck with frozen, but it will still be good. Fresh is best though.
What I loved about this recipe is the frosting. Because it is mostly made up of crushed strawberries. I mean WOW. It just really gives it that fresh berry burst to it and makes this cake AMAZING. I loved the frosting so much that I’ll be keeping it in the back of my mind for any other time I need strawberry frosting.
Of course, before you get too excited about the frosting, don’t forget you need to let the cakes cool before you go about frosting them. You don’t want a runny mess. You can pipe on the frosting for a fancier look or just spread it on. It will look impressive regardless. And it will taste impressive too.
