Growing up in the south, lemons and summer seem to just go hand in hand. To me, a lemon cake was the icing on the cake, pardon the pun, at the end of nice summer dinner or family gathering. I love the sweet and sour components that lemons have. They’re much like life, and that’s probably why someone started that whole, “When life gives you lemons…” thing. That being said, if you’re getting ready for the dog days of summer and have some folks to impress, serve them this gorgeous lemon chiffon cake. It sounds so fancy and grown up. And it tastes that way too. But it’s rather simple to put together. And don’t we just love stuff like that, where we only make it LOOK like we worked super-hard on something? Yes, of course we do!
