BEDAZZLED WITH CHOCOLATE CHIPS. OH YES!
Now, I must warn you that the original recipe calls for the use of Irish whiskey. It is perhaps why it is called “Irish Chocolate Cheesecake” instead of simply “Chocolate Cheesecake.” But if you don’t want to put whiskey into your chocolate cheesecake because you or your guests don’t want to imbibe or you’ll be serving children, then you do have a couple options.
For one, you can omit the whiskey altogether. Or you can replace it with 1-1/2 to 2 teaspoons of non-alcoholic vanilla extract. By using vanilla extract, you’ll be adding another element of flavor into the chocolate cheesecake. By leaving out the whiskey with no substitution, you’ll just be enjoying a basic but no less delicious chocolate cheesecake. So there you go. The Oreo crust doesn’t need to be baked. You simply prepare your chocolate cheesecake mixture and pour that into each little jar on top of your Oreo crust. Go one step further and pipe the mixture into the jars for a prettier effect. Don’t forget to garnish too. Oreo crumbs, chocolate chips or even berries all make fine adornments.
I found this fantastic recipe on the Cafe Sucre Farine blog. Click below to see the blog and full recipe for this Irish Chocolate Cheesecake.
