For peanut butter lovers, Nutter Butters are sheer perfection. I know we shouldn’t mess with a good thing but when I tell you these are even better, you’ve GOT to believe me. Seriously. Try it. No bad can come from a cookie dough with this much peanut butter in it.
Only good things, my friends. Only good things. Because when those cookies are done baking, they’re firm yet soft in the most delightful way. Then you’ve got that peanut butter filling and it just makes these rock so much.
This dough needs to be chilled though so plan ahead. Once that’s been done, you’ll create logs out of the dough that you’ll roll around into sugar. Take that, original Nutter Butters! More sugar is everything, you know. If you’ve ever made regular peanut butter cookies, you’ve likely done the fork-mash pattern in them. You’ll do it to these Homemade Nutter Butters, going for more of a criss-cross look. So it doesn’t look like a big blob, pinch in the middle with your fingers until it resembles the shape of a peanut.
Of course, even if it does bake up all blobby and you have to reshape it yet again, just remember these Homemade Nutter Butters are healthier and even tastier. And that beats good looks any day.
