GO AHEAD AND RAISE THE BAR!
These are quick and easy to create. Make life even easier by lining your pan, being sure to leave a bit of overhang for easy removal. And for the ultimate in ease, spray that lining with nonstick cooking spray. You can thank me later. Your trusty mixer will handle this lickity-split. Or use your own elbow grease. It might even make these taste even better when you work harder to make them.
Make the dough and add half of it to your pan. Press it and smooth it over on top with a spatula, or even the back of a spoon. Then take the hot caramel sauce and pour it all over your cookie dough. Sprinkle the caramel sauce with sea salt before blobbing spoonfuls of the remaining cookie dough onto it. When you’ve added the rest of the dough, spread it across the top until the caramel is covered. Add a sprinkling of sea salt to the top of that before baking. Give it enough time to cool afterward or you will burn your mouth on caramel. I may or may not be speaking from experience!
