THEY OOZE CARAMEL…AND JOY!
There is only one thing better than a gooey chocolate chip cookie…a gooey chocolate chip bar. I’ve loved bars ever since my mom made them for me when I was little. It was everything I ever loved about cookies but in a block. Maybe I loved it because the bar of cookie seemed bigger and denser than a regular circle-shaped cookie. Maybe that’s why I still love them. Or maybe it’s because for years before I really got into cooking and baking, I made THE wonkiest cookies ever. They always taste great but were so ugly no one wanted to touch them.
In my beginning days, no one made fun of my bars. Unlike cookies, they mask any wonkiness you might have created by misshaping or putting them too close together. But I still love them, so perhaps my love for them nowadays stems from that rich, denseness that only bars can provide.
