GOODBYE, APPLE PIE. HELLO, APPLE CAKE!
Okay, look. I love a good apple pie. I really do. But sometimes pie can be SO high maintenance. And when you’ve got lots of apples, one of the best things you can do with them is to bake them up. So, your first thought is typically an apple pie, amiright? Not long ago, I found a recipe for a German apple cake, which is a great way to use up apples and make something delicious for dessert. It was super easy too and ideal for a potluck. But now I’ve found yet another German apple cake recipe for you, but this one is different so I just had to share it because of the frosting.
OMG. The frosting! Hello lover! I could eat my whole arm off if it were slathered in this frosting. Let’s just say I know what I’ll be doing this Friday night. Ahem. The other German apple cake recipe has a great cream cheese frosting. It’s definitely worth trying. But there’s something about this buttermilk frosting that rocks this moist and apple-y cake. You’ve got to try it. Let’s go to the next page (click the Next button below) to discover how to make this German Apple Cake with Fluffy Buttermilk Frosting.
