THEY’RE ALMOST INVISIBLE!
The other day, I had to go to a potluck. I don’t mean it like I had to go, being forced by gunpoint or anything. I wanted to go. But the problem was that I’d forgotten about it until it was almost too late. I’m too young to claim senility but I just have no other explanation for why I spaced. I couldn’t show up empty-handed. I’d promised a dessert, and you know those that know me count on me for these kinds of things. I frantically tore through my kitchen, trying to figure out what I could do that wouldn’t look like I forgot completely. As I opened and closed cabinets and drawers repeatedly, I suddenly saw it on the counter and I had that “Eureka!” moment.
Bananas. OMG. I knew just what to do. Of course! I’d found a recipe for frosted banana bars and I’d almost completely forgot about that too until I saw those bananas on the counter. I think this was all some divine intervention, honestly. I was meant to bring these things to the potluck. It was a good thing I tucked a few away at home for us to enjoy because we’d never have even known I brought them – they were gone so quickly you’d have thought I simply brought an empty plate.
