NO GOOD COMES FROM CANS!
Well, except Grandma’s preserves. And while that might possibly be the only good thing you’ll excavate from a can, almost everything else that does will never be as good as fresh. Even frosting. Especially frosting. Oh, I know. I once was one of those gals that would eat cans of that store-bought frosting while gossiping with my girlfriends over insignificant boys while watching Clueless. Good times. But now I’m a bit more aware of what is in much of the food we find lining the shelves of our supermarkets and I can tell you, after finding out what is in those canned frostings, I gagged. Many of them still contain high fructose corn syrup. Ew!
So when I found this easy chocolate buttercream recipe, I was like “As if!” And I totally had to try it because we all need frosting in our lives. But we definitely don’t need high fructose corn syrup. And you know what the real kicker is? In less time than it takes for me to drive over to the supermarket, park my car, drag my kids out of their car seats, throw them into a cart, go by the bakery to get them a free cookie so they’ll be quiet while I shop, find what I’m looking for, wait in line to pay, pay, load my car up with groceries and annoying children and drive home, I can totally whip this stuff up.
