YOU WON’T BELIEVE HOW EASY IT IS!
This dessert only looks and tastes complex. In reality though, it couldn’t be simpler to make. So if you have company you want to impress but you don’t feel like spending hours making, baking, frosting and doing, try this one on for size. Make sure you prep your round cake tin either by lining with parchment paper or by greasing and then flouring the pan. You don’t want this beauty to stick on you. Then, make it happen. Cream the butter and the sugars. Then add your eggs one at a time, making sure to incorporate each one before adding the next one. Melt your chocolate and add it along with the self-rising flour. And bake! See? Easy!
I should mention that the recipe suggests you use the BEST quality of baking chocolate you can get and I absolutely agree. The chocolate is what this whole recipe is based on. Don’t be stingy and use something blah. Otherwise your mud cake might not be as spectacular. Once it cools, you can move on to your ganache. It’s easy to do in the microwave. Pour it on top of your cake and serve, preferably with ice cream for the ultimate indulgence.
