PERFECT FOR SPRING!
I love that these are made with fresh cherries. That sweetness with the dark chocolate makes it a winner. These are easy too. There’s no chilling of the dough. It’s just make and bake. And eat, of course.
First things first. You’ll whisk the flour, both sugars, baking soda, cardamom, and salt together in a large bowl. Once you’ve got those dry ingredients mixed up, add the beaten egg, melted butter, milk and rolled oats. Do some more mixing. Then it’s time for the chocolate chips. I added more than the recipe suggested. The original poster gives you full permission to do so and nothing could ever be made worse by adding more chocolate chips to it.
Finally, you’ll add the cherries and oh-so-gently fold them in. Don’t be rough or you’ll mash them up and ruin everything. Bake away on parchment paper until the edges turn brown. Cool and enjoy the fruits (and chocolates) of your labor!
I found this cherry-laden recipe from the 365 Days of Baking and More blog. Click the link below to see the blog and the full recipe for these Dark Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Cookies.
