TIME TO CELEBRATE!
If you’ve got something to celebrate, these cookies will be a surefire hit. Now, I know you’ll be tempted to use store-bought croissant dough, but don’t. Because with this dough you make in the recipe, you need to add the cream cheese into it. And you can’t exactly do that with ready-made dough. I suppose if you’re improvising, you could technically do that, but it will be different than this recipe and I’m not sure of the outcome you’ll get. If you go that route, do let me know how it turns out. I’m curious.
The dough is really simple to make. It’s just separating it out and brushing it with butter, sprinkling the sugar, adding the chocolate chips and rolling it up that will take you time, but honestly, that part is a bit fun. Put on some good music while you work and it will go by fast. Parchment paper will make this a whole lot easier when you’re baking too. Before you bake though, don’t forget to brush with the egg wash and then sprinkle on that decorator sugar. It’s what gives these that nice, professional-looking, picture-perfect touch.
