BRIGHTEN UP EVERYONE’S MORNING, ESPECIALLY YOUR OWN!
When you don’t have to kill yourself making an impressive breakfast bread, you find you can relax a little more in the morning which is just perfect for me. This cinnamon swirl bread is so delicious too that it might be hard to get you to bake any of the other breads after you make this. It’s so much easier than cinnamon rolls with the same amazing flavor. This recipe does call for buttermilk so if you’re not one to keep it around the house, try my favorite buttermilk hack – 1 cup of milk plus 2 tablespoons of either lemon juice or vinegar (not both though). It’s fine if it gets curdles. You’ll add that in when you add your buttermilk creation to your mixture.
So you make the batter and then pour half into your greased loaf pan. Then you add part of your cinnamon sugar mixture, followed by more batter and then top it off with more cinnamon sugar mixture. Then use a knife to cut through the batter to get that swirl happening. That’s basically it! You let it cool after baking, make the icing and then drizzle it on top for a perfect finish.
