AH, THE AMAZING POWER OF APPLE!
If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, this pie will hopefully keep the doctor away even longer! Nothing could be easier than this pie. It’s not a quick fix though it will only take you 15 minutes to prepare. The rest of the work is done by your faithful oven and then you’ll have to patiently allow it to cool. To make this, you’ll take your unbaked pastry shell and fill it with the apple pie filling. Could you make your own? You bet! But it’s nice to know that if you don’t have time to go to those lengths, you can just pour it straight from the can into the crust. Don’t forget to add cinnamon and dots of butter on top.
You’ll then make the crumb topping by mixing the cookie crumbs with the rest of the butter, melted of course. When it looks like coarse crumbs, you’ll sprinkle it over the filling. It’s important that you cover the edges of your pie crust with foil so they don’t burnt. You’ll be baking for a good 50 minutes and that crust can turn on you in an instant if you’re not careful. Don’t forget to have vanilla ice cream to serve with it! Not like you needed a reminder, did you? Enjoy!
