YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE!
Penny loved to cook and bake too, and I know if she were still here, she’d totally make these. And then she’d argue with me that THESE are the best bars ever. They are absolutely excellent, filled with Reese’s and pretzels and all that deliciousness. Easy as can be too since you just put it all in your mixer. Not at all once, but I think you know the drill now. Butter and sugars get creamed together until they’re fluffy. Then comes the eggs and vanilla. Then it’s the dry stuff. Don’t mix too much. Just combine them and that’s it.
Big chunks of Reese’s and pretzels get added in and then it’s time to bake. Allow it to cool completely before you hit it with your melted caramels. You can melt those babies in the microwave to speed things up. Pour it over your bars and then let it set in the fridge for about 15 minutes. Then, you can melt your chocolate chips that you’ll pour over the caramel layer. I used the microwave to melt these too. Much faster. Just watch out that you don’t scorch the chocolate. Do it in increments of 30 seconds just to be sure. After the chocolate topping, you’ll need to allow it to do its thing and set in the fridge for a minimum of 30 minutes. Once it’s ready, go for it!
