SATISFY YOUR CRAVING!
Be prepared that this is a very thin batter. You’ll be adding boiling water to it. Or coffee. The original poster said she used coffee. I used water but don’t worry if you want to use coffee because it just adds a slightly nuttier flavor. It won’t taste like coffee, promise. I love coffee, but I didn’t feel like brewing up a pot just for making the cake. If I drink it too late in the day then I don’t sleep well later.
So you’ll mix everything up and bake it and then while the cake cools, you’ll make the frosting. It’s made from chocolate chips, sour cream and vanilla extract. See? That’s unusual to use sour cream in the frosting. I know it sounds weird but it tastes great. There’s no sugar added to the frosting so that it gives a beautiful contrast to the cake. Try it! You’ll love it! Of course, if you want sugary sugary sugary, you can try out a buttercream frosting instead but you’ll miss out on what makes this cake so great. Believe me, it is plenty sweet and heavenly enough this way.
