A SIMPLE WAY TO GET GORGEOUS!
Got some people to impress? This one’s for you, and it’s simple enough to do even for beginners. You’ll sift your cake mix in a big bowl and add the cake ingredients to it. Stir it all until smooth and divide amongst the pans. Bake, being careful to take into account the amount of batter in each pan. It should be roughly 15 to 20 minutes. Then let the cakes cool.
Then it’s on to the frosting. You’ll beat the butter and cream cheese until smooth and then add the extracts. Then, slowly add your powdered sugar, adjusting for the consistency you desire. Then it’s a matter of assembling the cake. Once it’s all assembled and you’ve frosted the whole thing, take handfuls of the coconut shavings and gently pat them in place. You can opt to toast your coconut flakes for a more robust color, texture and flavor if you desire.
