PRETTY IN PINK!
When I lived abroad in Asia, one of the most spectacular sights to behold was in spring time when all the cherry blossoms would come into bloom. Pink blossoms covered all the trees as I walked past on my way to the metro, kicking slushy bits of leftover snow to the curb. It was so pretty, and it’s definitely something I miss now that I’m back home. Cherry blossoms don’t grow where I live but there are some other trees, more tropical ones, that make it beautiful in a different way.
The smell of cherry blossoms is nice too, and soon at the markets, we’d find fresh hand-picked cherries for ridiculously cheap prices. They were so sweet and juicy! One of my favorite memories of my time abroad was picking cherries in the Laoshan Mountains in China. It definitely made me appreciate cherries more. So the husband and I were talking about our cherry-picking days and we got a little nostalgic for that cherry taste. While my husband craves mostly salty things, I thought he’d be excited if I surprised him with something cherry-rific. And boy did I find it!
