PLUS, THESE ARE EASY-PEASY!
These cherry bars aren’t just taste-tacular, they’re so simple to throw together. And you know what else? They look great too. You can whip these up with stuff you likely have in your pantry. That’s great for when your kids come and tell you they need something for tomorrow’s bake sale, or you get a last-minute invite to a barbecue.
And with that cherry filling, you can tell people they’re good for them too. No one will believe you but that’s ok. They’ll still help you eat them. It basically goes like this: spread out the dough, drop the fruit filling on top, and then randomly blob on the remaining dough in spoonfuls. It will look nice, I promise. That glaze will take away from any wonky looking pieces.
What’s more is, if you don’t like cherry, or if you have a different can of fruity pie filling lying around, you can use that instead. These would totally rock with blueberry filling too. Why not make them in every flavor imaginable?
By the way, before you head on into the recipe, you need to be aware that it makes 5 dozen. Yes, that’s 60 bars. I warn you because you should probably have plans for those 60 bars. And if you don’t, you can just invite me over. I’ll help you eat them, no problem. I need more fruit in my diet anyway. This very cool recipe that I found to make this review comes from the Taste Of Home website. Click the link below to go visit the site to get the detailed recipe.
