IT’S THE TOPS!
Some cakes don’t need frosting, but those aren’t the majority. Most cakes need frosting and even if they are amazing cakes in their own right, they should still be topped with frosting because why not? Cake and frosting are like peas and carrots. Only much more delicious! I love having a giant roster of frosting recipes to choose from. You can make your chocolate cake taste like a different cake by using a different frosting on top. Or add a touch of chocolate to a vanilla cake by using chocolate frosting. And cupcakes? Oh yeah, those totally needs lots of frosting. You could even frost each one differently.
I’ve seen all kinds of frosting. And eaten it too. And then I found one that made me pause. It’s not one I’ve seen before. A caramel cream cheese frosting. Oh wow did it make me weak in the knees. Because I just adore cream cheese frosting. And caramel? Whoah Nellie! Buttery, gooey and rich caramel weaved into cream cheese to make a frosting?!? Yes, please!
