DO YOU DREAM OF BROWNIES? I DO!
This is an awesome from-scratch recipe. It’s easy to follow and put together but if you wanted to cheat and use a mix, I suppose you could. It’s just better this way. Try it. I promise it’s easy and you’ll do great.
When making the batter, you can omit the walnuts if you wish. While I love nuts, I’m not too much of a fan of them in my brownies. I’m really not sure why that is. I know it’s weird, but whatever. So if you prefer brownies without nuts or you’re serving those with nut allergies, you can just leave them out.
Only put about 2/3 of the batter into your greased pan and bake for the time specified. While that happens, you’ll get the caramel mixture ready. Once it is, the brownies should be ready too. You’ll pour the caramel on top and then, if using nuts, you’ll add more of those. If not, just start dropping the rest of the batter with a spoon over the caramel. Then, take a butter knife and very gently swirl the batter to make pretty designs. Bake again but be careful not to overdo it. It calls for 35 to 40 minutes. I stayed with 35 and it was perfect, but all ovens vary so keep an eye out. Allow them to cool before digging in or you will burn your mouth on the caramel!
