ONCE YOU POP…!
When I was a kid, Mom liked to make us special things for breakfast. One of them was cinnamon rolls, which made my brother and me super-happy. Mom made most things from scratch but for these she used the Pillsbury ones that pop out of the can, likely because she could not function in the morning without her coffee, much like me now. Anyway, one morning when she made these, as she pulled them out of the oven, one roll rolled right off the baking tray and right onto the kitchen floor!
The family dog couldn’t believe his luck. Our happy little dachshund ran right on over without missing a beat and proceeded to take a bite. Only problem was the cinnamon roll was piping hot. So he backed off and then immediately charged at it again. And burnt his mouth again. And the cycle continued as we all sat there laughing hysterically at the poor creature until it had cooled enough for him to swallow it in 2 bites. I always think about this every time I make cinnamon rolls. Our dog, Snoopy, is all of us with cinnamon rolls. And this from-scratch recipe will be sure to make you come back for more again and again. Just please don’t drop yours on the floor or burn your mouth on them!
